Video-EEG Monitoring
Hours of simultaneous EEG and video recording to show the type and origin of seizures.
At New City Clinic, Video-EEG Monitoring is performed in Istanbul by specialist physicians at partner hospitals licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health.

Video-EEG Monitoring in Istanbul: overview
In video-EEG monitoring, the EEG is recorded together with video of the patient for several hours or over a few days. This allows both the brain waves and the patient’s movements during an attack to be studied. It is used to tell epileptic seizures from other attacks, to define the seizure type and the area of the brain where it starts, and before surgical assessment in epilepsy that does not respond to treatment. The length of recording and any hospital stay are planned by the neurologist.
Who is it for?
Video-EEG monitoring suits people whose attacks are not clearly explained, people with epilepsy that does not respond to treatment, and patients being assessed for epilepsy surgery.
