Legal Department: Your Rights Are Protected With Us

New City Clinic connects its patients not only with treatment but with their rights. From your first quote to your return home, our legal department works to protect your rights, keep you informed and stand by you if a problem arises.

Why do we have a legal department?

Having treatment in another country means entering a system whose language and rules you do not know. Our legal department exists so that you are not alone in it: so that you understand every document you sign, promises made to you are put in writing and your rights are looked after at every stage.

Our lawyers safeguard the process, not the company. In a dispute our aim is not to close the matter; it is to listen to you, review your file and take the steps needed for you to reach the resolution you are entitled to.

How we protect you

A written, itemised quote

Every promise made to you is in writing: the hospital, physician, procedure, length of stay and included services are each set out in your quote. Nothing is added later without your agreement.

Informed consent in your language

Consent documents are explained to you before surgery in a language you understand. You are not asked to sign anything before you know the risks, the options and the limits.

Licence and authorisation checks

Your treatment takes place only at hospitals licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health and with specialist physicians. You are entitled to see the documents at any time.

Protection of your personal data

Your photographs and medical information are special category data under Turkish law (KVKK) and are shared only with the physician and hospital involved in your care, with your explicit consent. Patients from Europe can also exercise their GDPR rights.

A complaints and resolution process

If you are dissatisfied, your complaint is recorded in writing, reviewed together with the physician and the hospital, and answered in writing. You know who you are dealing with at every step.

By your side if something goes wrong

In an unexpected situation our legal department takes on communication with the hospital, explains your rights and the official routes open to you, and does not leave you alone in the process.

Your rights as a patient in Türkiye

Every patient treated in Türkiye is protected by law, whatever their nationality. Your main rights are:

  • To be informed, in a language you understand, about your condition, the proposed treatment, the risks and the alternatives
  • To accept or refuse treatment and to withdraw your consent
  • To choose and change your physician and healthcare institution
  • To have your privacy respected and your information kept confidential
  • To see your medical records and receive a copy
  • To complain: to the hospital’s patient rights unit and to the Ministry of Health

Legal safeguards at every stage

  1. 1

    Before you travel

Your quote and contract are prepared in writing; you can put your questions to the legal department before signing.

  2. 2

    In Istanbul

Consent documents are explained with an interpreter; hospital and physician documents are shown to you on request.

  3. 3

    After you return

Your medical records and reports are handed to you; if you make a complaint, your file is followed in writing.

Frequently asked questions

How can I reach the legal department?

Fill in the form on this page or write to info@newcityclinic.com. Your enquiry is kept confidential and passed directly to the legal department.

What language are the contract and consent documents in?

The documents are explained in a language you understand, and an interpreter is present at the examination and signing. You are not asked to sign a clause you do not understand.

What happens if I am not satisfied with the result?

Your complaint is taken in writing and assessed medically together with your physician. No operation comes with a guaranteed result, but your complaint is examined seriously and your rights are explained to you clearly.

Who is my information shared with?

Only with the physician planning your treatment, the partner hospital and the partners arranging your travel, and only as far as the purpose requires. The details are in our Personal Data Protection Notice.

I live abroad. How do I exercise my rights?

Your rights continue to apply after you return home. You can send your request in writing, and our legal department explains the process and the official bodies you can apply to.
