Surgery in Turkey from Australia and New Zealand: 2026 Prices and Planning a Long-Haul Trip

There are direct and connecting flights to Istanbul from major Australian cities, and flights from New Zealand. New City Clinic is a health-tourism organisation authorised by the Turkish Ministry of Health: we arrange your treatment at licensed partner hospitals, where their specialist doctors operate, with a written quote, hotel, transfers, interpretation and complication insurance.

Why plan carefully for a long-haul trip

From Australia and New Zealand, the journey to Istanbul is long, so the plan matters: hospital, hotel, transfers and a coordinator organised as one package, and enough days in Istanbul before you fly home. The partner hospitals (Acıbadem, Medicana, Medipol, Medical Park and Biruni) are licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health, and the operation is performed by their specialist surgeons. New City Clinic organises and coordinates your treatment; it does not operate itself.

Estimated 2026 package prices (in euros)

Rhinoplasty €2,250, breast augmentation €3,200, BBL €3,000, tummy tuck €3,500, Lipo 360 €3,500, mommy makeover €4,850, facelift €3,000, face and neck lift €4,500, blepharoplasty €3,300, gastric sleeve €2,500, hair transplant €1,500. Hip replacement around €8,000–€12,000 and knee replacement around €7,000–€9,000. Packages are quoted in euros. These are estimates: the final quote is given in writing after the physician’s assessment. Flights are not included.

What the package includes

Surgery at a licensed partner hospital, your hospital stay, hotel accommodation, airport–hotel–hospital transfers, pre-operative tests and interpretation where specified, and compression garments where needed. Complication insurance is included in every package organised by New City Clinic; it is not an add-on. Its scope, limits and exclusions are given to you in writing with your quote and before surgery. Flights are not included.

Days in Istanbul before the flight home

The usual stay in Istanbul is 3–4 days for a hair transplant, 5–7 days for breast augmentation or a gastric sleeve, 6–8 days for a BBL, 7–10 days for rhinoplasty, a tummy tuck or a mommy makeover, 8–10 days for a facelift and 10–14 days or more for hip or knee replacement. With a very long flight, stay the full recommended period and fly only after your surgeon has cleared you. On the plane and during any stopover, walk regularly, drink water and wear compression garments or stockings as instructed.

Treatments we arrange

Cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body; hair transplantation; dental treatment (priced after a review of your X-rays); weight-loss surgery; orthopaedics; and eye treatment such as lens replacement and laser vision correction. Weight-loss surgery is usually considered with a BMI of 35 or more, or a BMI of 30–35 with an associated disease such as type 2 diabetes. The surgeon decides after examination and tests. IVF in Turkey is available only to married couples using their own eggs and sperm, as Turkish law requires. Oncology and organ transplantation have no listed prices: the plan follows a review of your reports.

Insurance and your GP

Australian and New Zealand health insurers usually do not cover elective surgery abroad; ask your insurer before you travel. Complication insurance is included in every package organised by New City Clinic; it is not an add-on. Its scope, limits and exclusions are given to you in writing with your quote and before surgery. Tell your GP about your plans; you receive your reports in English, and follow-up continues by photos and video calls after you are home.

Travel and documents

Check the visa or e-visa requirements for your passport on the official website evisa.gov.tr before you book. Once your treatment is planned, the hospital confirms your appointment in writing. There are direct and connecting flights from major Australian cities and flights from New Zealand; check schedules with the airlines. A companion is welcome, and their accommodation and transfers can be arranged too.
